We invite you to participate in "The International Meeting on Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information 2011" (QFQI) 2011. The meeting will be held at Seoul National University from November 16 - 17, 2011.

The purpose of this meeting is to promote exchanges of ideas and discussions among leading scientists and students working on the foundations of quantum mechanics and quantum information.

The program includes open plenary session, invited talks and poster presentations covering a broad range of topics:

The next Q+ hangout is on the coming Tuesday:

Speaker: Prof. Andreas Winter, Bristol University
Date: 27th of September, 14:00 BST
Title: Zero-error communication via quantum channels, non-commutative graphs and a quantum Lovasz theta-function
Abstract: I will review some of the recent progress on the zero-error capacity problem for quantum channels, centered mainly around my work with Runyao Duan and Simone Severini [1002.2514], which suggests an extension of graphs and graph notions into the non-commutative domain.

Two Postdoctoral Positions in Experimental Quantum Optics and Information
Laboratoire Kastler Brossel, Paris

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in experimental quantum optics and quantum information at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel (LKB), in Paris (France). LKB is jointly run by Université P. et M. Curie, Ecole Normale Supérieure and CNRS.

Double slit experiments play a key role in Quantum Theory in distinct particle and
wave interactions according to Feynman. In this paper, double path models
together with variant logic principles are applied to establish a simulation system
enabling the exhaustive testing of given targets. Using Einstein quanta interaction,
different quaternion measures are investigated. Under conditions of Symmetry /
Anti-symmetry and Synchronous / Asynchronous interaction, eight groups of

The position, for 2 years, is within the project QUITEMAD (Quantum Information Technologies Madrid) web site: http://www.quitemad.org/, funded through the Programas de Actividades de I+D de la Comunidad de Madrid, which involves 5 Quantum Information groups.

PhD-Positions and PostDoc-Positions available for: Photonic Quantum Computation and Quantum Simulation

Adrian Kent will give a journal club on Google Plus about his paper http://arxiv.org/abs/1101.4620 on Tuesday the 23rd, 14:00 UK time! This will be a first trial for a potential series of journal clubs
done by g+ hangouts (group video chat). As they are currently restricted to 10 members it will happen on a first come, first served basis.

If you have technical questions please let me know, and make sure to connect to me on Google+.
Hope to see you there! Daniel
