Welcome to Quantiki
Welcome to Quantiki, the world's leading portal for everyone involved in quantum information science. No matter if you are a researcher, a student or an enthusiast of quantum theory, this is the place you are going to find useful and enjoyable! While here on Quantiki you can: browse our content, including fascinating and educative articles, then create your own account and log in to gain more editorial possibilities.
Add new content, such as information about upcoming quantum events, open positions for quantum scientists and existing quantum research groups. We are also distributing news via X (Twitter) feed, Bluesky news feed, and LinkedIn profile. We encourage you to follow us on social media to get the recent news from quantum infromation community.
As you may already know, QIP2012 will be held (in Montreal) earlier this year. The submission
deadline will therefore be unusually early. The QIP2012 website will be made available
in a few days at:
http://www.crm.math.ca/qip2012
where the full call for paper will be found. Below, you'll find the pre-call for papers
for the conference.

The Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz invites applications for a professorship in experimental quantum optics and quantum information. Applicants should have a strong scientific record in one of these areas. Collaboration with and complement of existing working groups at Mainz, strengthening of the impact of corresponding research networks with participation from the University of Mainz is expected. Appropriate involvement in teaching in experimental physics is mandatory.

On 25-26 June, the Centre for History and Philosophy of Science, Technology and Medicine (CHPSTM), University of Aberdeen, will hold a workshop on 'Quantum States: ontic or epistemic?', with additional generous support from the Scots Philosophical Association.
Registration is free but space is limited, so please email Guido Bacciagaluppi (g.bacciagaluppi (at) abdn.ac.uk) in advance if you wish to attend. Please also indicate if you wish to come to dinner on 25 June.

This event will bring together researchers working on mathematical foundations of quantum physics, quantum computing and information, and spatio-temporal causal structures, and in particular those that use logical tools, ordered algebraic and category-theoretic structures, formal languages, semantical methods and other computer science methods for the study physical behaviour in general.

The Summer School will take place at El Escorial, Spain (http://www.euroforum.es/), a nice and historic city about 50 km to the north of Madrid. See further information below and in the website.
The whole activity will focus primarily on the following topics:
* One-Way Quantum Computation and Statistical Mechanics
* Topological Codes and Statistical Models
* Random Statistical Mechanical Systems and Lattice Gauge Theories
* Quantum Information and Models of Discrete Quantum Gravity
