POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS
The physics of quantum information team at the physics department of the Université de Sherbrooke invites applications for up to two postdoctoral positions in the groups of Alexandre Blais and of Bertrand Reulet. In addition to being able to pursue their own research agendas, the successful applicants will be involved in the group’s activities, which includes:
- Blais’ group: Theoretical aspects of superconducting qubits, circuit quantum electrodynamics, quantum optics in solid-state devices, theory of quantum limited amplifiers, ...

The project is aimed at the creation and manipulation of atomic density patterns by contact-free self-assembly due to optomechanical forces. We are looking at large patches (samples size of some millimetres) of laser cooled matter (around 100 µK), which will be structured on scales of wavelengths to hundreds of micrometres. The spatial structure is not imposed externally but evolves spontaneously from an instability of the homogeneous atomic cloud in interaction with a homogeneous light field.

We are looking for a motivated PhD student who is interested to work at the interface between the foundations of quantum mechanics and particle physics. The project aims at the investigation of possible Bell inequality violations in systems of neutral mesons and the modeling of the relevant decay processes with methods from quantum optics.
The Quantum Information Group at the Institute of Theoretical Physics invites applications for positions for three
Research Assistants (67 % - 100%)
Salary Scale 13 TV-L
to be appointed as soon as possible.
These positions are parts of different fundings and therefore differently limited. They are open for Postdocs, as well as graduate students.

We deal with precision spectroscopy of trapped and laser-cooled atomic and molecular ions. For this purpose, we develop novel technologies for the coherent manipulation of individual ions and their spectroscopy.
To support our team, we are looking for 3 candidates for a PhD degree to join us in the three different projects described below. The salary will be paid in accordance with remuneration group 13 TVöD Bund (85%).
