Many theoretical challenges need to be solved in order to implement the first quantum networks. In this PhD position, you will have the opportunity to solve some of these practical challenges. You will join the theory group of David Elkouss in QuTech at TU Delft and will work in close collaboration with the experimental groups of Ronald Hanson and Tim Taminiau and with the theory group of Stephanie Wehner.

We are offering two fully funded three year appointments for a doctoral position pending acceptance into the Nanotechnology Doctorate at Tecnológico de Monterrey. The candidate will join our group efforts to explore quantum optics, integrated photonics and optical physics systems and their applications to information technologies.

Living Expenses Funding: CONACYT doctoral grant (~13,000 mxn per month, competitive in Mexico).

A fully-funded PhD student position is available at the Department of Mathematics at Nottingham Trent. The studentship will pay UK fees (currently set at £4121 for 2016/17 and are revised annually) and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (this is revised annually and is currently £14,296 for academic year 2016/17) for up to three years. The project can be started in the Summer 2017.

A postdoc/PhD student position in Germany

A fully-funded postdoc/PhD student position is available to work at Peter Gruenberg Institute (PGI-2) in Forschungszentrum Juelich, near Aachen in Germany.
