We seek two PhD students to start in October 2022 for the following projects:
1. Quantum light spectroscopy of complex quantum systems
The theoretical project will develop schemes for quantum-enhanced spectroscopy of complex quantum systems – that is, to exploit the tools of quantum metrology for precisely estimating parameters of quantum systems coupled to quantum and classical environments.
2. Reliable quantum computations

The ‘Theory of Superconducting Quantum Circuits’ research group led by Alexandre Blais specializes in quantum computing and quantum optics in circuit QED, a leading quantum computer architecture. The group is looking for highly motivated candidates at all levels (graduate students, postdocs and research scientists) with expertise in the theory of superconducting quantum circuits, circuit QED, quantum error correction, microwave quantum optics, variational quantum algorithms, or machine learning.
Examples of possible projects include:
The NanoQuCo CAM Synergy Grant on New Emerging Scientific Fields (https://www.nanoquco.es) is offering positions for excellent postdoctoral researchers and PhD students to work on the development of quantum technologies, such as quantum computers, sensors and simulators, based on nanophotonic devices.
