We are looking for a PhD candidate who is highly motivated to work on problems at the intersection of mathematics, physics, and computer science. The topic of the PhD project is quantum position verification, please follow the link above for a detailed description. The PhD position will at the Grenoble Computer Science Laboratory (LIG) in Grenoble, France, and will be under the joint supervision of Andreas Bluhm and Mehdi Mhalla.

The candidate must have a master degree in either mathematics, physics, or computer science. They should be familiar with the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics. Some familiarity with quantum information theory would be highly welcome. Moreover, the candidate should have a good working knowledge of linear algebra, be able to write rigorous mathematical proofs, and be motivated to acquire any mathematical skills they might need during the course of the project.
