Project Overview
Join the Quantum and Ultrafast Photonics (QUP) Lab
at the University of Insubria in beautiful Como, Italy, and contribute
to cutting-edge research in quantum and nonlinear optics.
This fully funded PhD position is funded by the ERC
Consolidator Grant “QuNIm” (Project 101125923), which explores
how entangled photons can enhance multiphoton light-matter interactions.
Key applications include nonlinear imaging and biophotonics, with a
focus on two-photon absorption and second-harmonic generation.
Research Focus
-
Develop and characterize high-gain parametric down-conversion sources of
entangled photons.
-
Employ quantum light to enhance nonlinear optical processes.
-
Conduct experimental research with potential interdisciplinary
applications in quantum imaging and biophotonics.
The research is supported by an ERC Consolidator grant, covering
experimental resources and travel, including research stays abroad.
