We are currently recruiting PhD students in three different areas of experimental quantum physics. All three positions are fully funded, with a yearly salary of about €33000, with access to Sweden’s strong social security net.
The areas are 1) cavity QED microscope for single molecules, 2) Quantum computing in rare-earth crystals, 3) slow and fast light applications, described in more detail below.
1) Quantum optics in the context of chemical physics

Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces one post-doc and one Ph.D.-student positions in theory of quantum information processing with photonic continuous variables, funded within EU Quantum Flagship and a national research project. The research will be applied to quantum communications and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The positions are in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.

Looking for excellent PhD students to join and build a group at @VectorInst on topics at the intersection between machine learning and quantum many-body physics and quantum technology. If you are interested get in touch with me and/or apply to @UWaterloo Physics and Astronomy. A good knowledge of quantum mechanics, statistical physics, and machine learning would be great, but ultimately the important thing is that you are genuinely excited about quantum many-body physics
PhD and Postdoctoral positions will open in Spring 2019 on different projects related to molecular cavity optomechanics, ultrafast quantum state manipulation in THz-frequency oscillators, and THz to visible wavelength conversion.
Details of the openings can be found at: https://lqno.epfl.ch/openings/
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Ph.D. position in the project MICROCOMB – “Applications and Fundamentals of Microresonator Frequency Combs”, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network funded by the European Union.

We are currently offering a position on quantum thermodynamics within a newly installed international research network. The successful candidate will work in the research group for quantum information theory led by Jens Eisert at the Dahlem Center for Complex Quantum Systems of the Free University of Berlin. The position is part of an exciting DFG-funded network dedicated to realizing "thermal machines in the quantum world", thermodynamic devices that are based on quantum mechanisms in their functioning.
