quantum computing

Application deadline:

Wednesday, February 6, 2019

We are currently recruiting PhD students in three different areas of experimental quantum physics. All three positions are fully funded, with a yearly salary of about €33000, with access to Sweden’s strong social security net.

The areas are 1) cavity QED microscope for single molecules, 2) Quantum computing in rare-earth crystals, 3) slow and fast light applications, described in more detail below.

1) Quantum optics in the context of chemical physics

The position is in the group of Dimitris G. Angelakis in the Centre for Quantum Technologies Singapore (www.dimitrisangelakis.org). We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a strong research background and a PhD in quantum physics or quantum information and/or condensed matter or related discipline with experience in research in quantum algorithms and/or quantum machine learning.

Submission deadline:

Sunday, April 1, 2018

Application deadline:

Saturday, December 1, 2018

NOTE: Review of applications will commence December 1, 2018.

The School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions. We have multiple openings and will consider applications at all ranks, including assistant, associate, and full professor. Excellent applicants in all areas of computer science will be considered. Applicants with research focus on computer security, artificial intelligence, networks and systems, and quantum computing will be given priority.

Application deadline:

Saturday, December 8, 2018

We invite applications for several opportunities in experimental Quantum Information Science and Condensed Matter Physics as either a Postdoctoral or Senior Research Associate. The focus of these positions will be on the design and measurement of superconducting circuits for quantum simulation applications.

Application deadline:

Application deadline:

Thursday, November 1, 2018

USC’s Information Sciences Institute (ISI) invites applications for a postdoc position starting immediately. This is a 1-year appointment with a strong possibility of reappointment.

In this position, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to the design and development of algorithms and methods in the field of adiabatic quantum computing (quantum annealing), specifically, searching for potential advantages of quantum annealers over standard algorithms.

1. Quantum Enhanced Technology
- quantum simulators
- quantum enhanced machine learning
- adiabatic vs gate-model algorithms

2. Foundations and Mathematical Methods
- theory of tensor networks
- theory of quantum walks and time symmetry breaking (chiral quantum walks)
- symmetries, invariant theory

Registration deadline:
