Application deadline:

Thursday, July 31, 2025

Job type:

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher for the Quantum Computing Group of Prof. Mariami Gachechiladze at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in the field of quantum information theory, quantum computation, and foundations of quantum mechanics. We are a broadly interested theoretical research group, working on topics including:

  • Foundational questions in quantum mechanics (e.g., Bell’s theorem)
  • Certification of quantum computation
  • Hybrid quantum-classical algorithms
  • Multipartite entanglement theory and quantum networks
  • Classical and quantum causal models

We provide a generous salary based on the German TV-L E13 pay scale. The appointment will be initially for one year at 100% E13, but it will be extended up to three years. We are a quickly growing group, soon to be six doctoral and two postdoctoral researchers.

Qualification Requirements for a postdoc position: The successful candidate must have an excellent, proven publication record in at least one of the above-listed fields and have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, computer science, or mathematics. Teaching and supervision experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
