The QuPhotonics Lab is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team, which focuses on cutting-edge developments in quantum optics, quantum communication, and quantum networks, with strong ties to both fundamental physics and emerging quantum technologies. You will play a central role in designing, building, and operating state-of-the-art quantum optics experiments. We are especially interested in candidates eager to push the limits of real-world quantum communication, from table-top experiments to fibre-based and free-space implementations.

Job Requirements:

• A PhD in experimental physics, quantum optics, photonics, or a closely related field

• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: nonlinear optics, single-photon detection, quantum state characterization, fibre optics, or optical quantum information processing

• Strong hands-on skills in optics and instrumentation

• A track record of publications in high-impact journals

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Duration:

The fellowship is tenable for 2 years with the possibility of a further extension, depending on available funding. Please note that postdoctoral fellows are not appointed as employees at SU and are therefore not eligible for employee benefits. Postdoctoral fellowships are also awarded tax-free.

Commencement of duties: 01 September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
