The Quantum Technologies Team in MPA-Q is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers in experimental atomic and optical physics. Current research conducted by our team of four staff, five postdocs, and two students focuses on atomtronics [New J. Phys. 19 , 020201, (2017)] and quantum information science [Phys. Rev. A 101, 030301(R ) (2020)] with ultracold atoms. The new postdocs will share responsibility for developing a number of new research directions.

The Soft and Complex Materials Lab at IST Austria is looking for an exceptional experimental postdoc. The successful candidate will design and build a sophisticated optical tweezers system to study the physics of tribocharging at the single charge level. Experience with optics, automation, and LabView is highly sought, but any exceptional candidate with a strong experimental background will be considered. The duration of the project will be two years with the possibility of extension.

Application deadline:

A post-doctoral position is opened at the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Grenoble (IRIG, formerly INAC) of the CEA Grenoble (France) on the theory and modeling of silicon-on-insulator quantum bits (qubits). The selected candidate is expected to start between October and December 2020, for up to two years.

Fully founded 3-year theory PhD and Postdoc positions available soon in the group of Prof. Jarek Korbicz within OPUS project "Novel approach to decoherence and information transfer studies in open quantum systems" founded by the National Science Center of Poland.

There is an opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work at the QuSys Group at Trinity College Dublin starting around October 2020 with some flexibility in the precise date. The QuSys group is a young, dynamic and international group lead by Prof. John Goold. The groups interests are diverse ranging from thermodynamics of quantum systems and quantum transport in non equilibrium steady states (NESS) to quantum information and many-body physics. The position is initially for 2 years and can be extended further.

Application deadline:

Tuesday, June 30, 2020

For our new project on single time-bin entangled photon pairs from semiconductor quantum dots in collaboration with the universities of Münster (Germany)  and Linz (Austria) we are looking for a post-doc with experience in quantum optics, ideally with semiconductors and sources of nonclassical light. This experience should be documented by a strong publication record.
